Japanese Sausage Katsudon
Let’s make another popular dish from Japan, Japanese Sausage Katsudon, that we often see in Japanese restaurant menus. Today, we will do it ourselves, and we guarantee it will be delicious. For this recipe, we will use Itoham Bayern Wiener Arabiki that has crisp skin, juicy and rich in flavour classic Japanese style from Itoham. Coated in batter and fried, topped with katsudon sauce and eggs. Garnish the dish with sprinkle seaweed and scallions.
Ingredients:
- Itoham Bayern Wiener Arabiki 1 pack
- Eggs 2 eggs
- Crispy flour 2 cups
- Water (mix with flour) 1 cup
- Breadcrumbs 2 cups
- Water 1 cup
- Sugar 2 tsp
- Katsudon sauce 1 tbsp
- Mince onion ½ cup
- Mince scallions ¼ cup
- Rice 2 cups
- Mince scallions (for garnish)
- Seaweed (for garnish)
Cooking methods:
- To create the batter, mix crispy flour with 1 egg, and water. After mixing the batter well, dip Itoham Bayern Wiener Arabiki into the batter and then cover sausages with breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil over medium heat until they are crispy golden color. Put them aside to drain the oil.
- Pour 1 cup of water into a pan, add sugar and Katsudon sauce and mix them well. Add onion and scallions into a pan. Place fried sausage and top with 1 egg.
- Wait until egg cooked, then pour on top of rice. Garnish the dish with seaweed and scallions.
